Tesla, the electric vehicle and clean energy company, has been working on its ambitious plan to colonize Mars with its Starship rocket.
But what kind of vehicles will the future settlers use on the red planet? The answer might be the Cybertruck, Tesla’s futuristic electric pickup truck that was unveiled in 2019.
The Cybertruck is a steel-clad electric pickup truck that features a sharp-edged design, a spacious bed, and a high-performance battery.
Tesla claims that the Cybertruck can tow up to 14,000 pounds, accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and travel up to 500 miles on a single charge.
The Cybertruck also has an adjustable air suspension that can raise or lower the vehicle’s height, and a bulletproof glass that can withstand metal balls and sledgehammers.

But what would the Cybertruck look like on Mars?
Tesla has recently revealed some images of “Cybertruck on Mars” that were generated by its artificial intelligence (AI) software stack running on its Dojo supercomputer.
The Dojo supercomputer is a powerful machine that Tesla developed in-house to train its neural networks for various applications, such as autonomous driving, computer vision, and natural language processing.
Tesla used a text-to-image deep learning model called Stable Diffusion to create the images of Cybertruck on Mars. Stable Diffusion is a model that can generate detailed images based on text descriptions.
Tesla gave the model some simple prompts, such as “Cybertruck on Mars with a Starship in the background” or “Cybertruck on Mars with a solar panel and a wind turbine”, and the model produced some realistic and creative images of the Cybertruck in different scenarios on the Martian surface.
The images are not perfect, and some of them have some glitches and artifacts, but they show the potential of Tesla’s AI and Dojo supercomputer to create novel and imaginative content.
Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk has said that he wants to use the Dojo supercomputer to create a virtual world that is indistinguishable from reality and that he plans to launch the first Starship mission to Mars in 2024.
Perhaps, the Cybertruck will be one of the first vehicles to explore the new frontier.
